International Trade Intern Description:
NPPC (National Pork Producers Council) is still accepting applicants for their 2008 Spring Internship Program!! NPPC is at the forefront of expanding markets for U.S. pork producers through free trade agreements such as the U.S.-Korea FTA, the WTO Doha Round negotiations and of reducing the sanitary and technical barriers to trade. The international trade intern’s main responsibility is to assist in congressional and technical efforts to expand and maintain U.S. pork exports. The trade intern closely follows domestic and international policies and regulations related to trade and completes research and analysis of pork trade issues. The NPPC trade intern is exposed to the development and execution of U.S. trade policy and interacts with Congress, U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative. Intern applicants should have strong interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills along with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.

Stipend: $500/week
