- Receiving a Federal Pell Grant during the term of application submission or term abroad
- Credit-bearing program
- Abroad for at least 3 weeks for students from 4-year institutions or 2 weeks for students from 2-year institutions
- Traveling to a country or area with an overall Travel Advisory Level 1 or 2
The Cargill Global Scholars Program, a unique scholarship and leadership development opportunity for high-achieving freshmen and sophomore students studying in a field relevant to Cargill's world of food, agriculture, science, sustainability, and business is now accepting applications for the 2019-2020 application cycle.

The goal of The Waltz Study Abroad Affordability Scholarship is to assist with additional expense of studying abroad (if applicable) versus staying in Ames. A typical award is expected to be $1,500. Awards will partially be based on the applicant choosing a study abroad location that supports a good academic plan, developing a reasonable financial plan and demonstrating that this scholarship is required to enable them to study abroad.
Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grants are designed to help support undergraduates as they seek knowledge and experience in their academic fields by studying abroad. Seventy-five $1,000 grants are awarded each year.
Applicants do not have to be Society members but must attend an institution with an active Phi Kappa Phi chapter.
