This course offers a comprehensive exploration of agriculture's vital role in post-conflict economic development and recovery, focusing on the case of Kosovo. Students will gain practical insights into how agricultural practices, policies, and international aid can work together to support sustainable development. The course covers both animal and vegetable production and highlights the efforts of governments, educational institutions, and international organizations in promoting economic growth and improving rural livelihoods.
Through visits to local farms and interactions with representatives from development agencies, farmer associations, government bodies, and educational institutions, students will address the challenges and opportunities facing Kosovo's agricultural sector. The course culminates in a capstone development project proposal where students apply lessons learned to real-world scenarios and present to a panel of experts in the field of agricultural development.
