Through visits to farms, industry, and cultural sites, students will study the agricultural systems and exportation market economy of New Zealand, while gaining an appreciation of the history, culture and geography of the country and its people.
Students will explore the animal (dairy, beef, sheep, and goat), crop (pasture and row crop), and horticultural (apple, blueberry, grape,olive, avocado and kiwi fruit) industries, visit with ag researchers, gain an introduction to bio-security issues, and have the chance to visit an ecological reserve, a Maori cultural area, geothermal fields, and many other exciting sites.
This program was last offered in 2018. Program was canceled in 2020.
