Beautiful gardens, inspiring landmarks, metropolitan cities, and historic sites are just a few things you will see on this Study USA course to New York City and Philadelphia! Students will start by traveling to New York City, where they will get a chance to visit one of the most unique and inspiring urban gardens in the world – the Highline. They will visit other iconic “Big Apple” landscapes like Central Park and the New York Botanical Garden, one of the best public gardens in the world. Time in the city that never sleeps will also include trips to Ellis Island, the Statue of Liberty, the 9/11 Memorial, and the opportunity to take pictures from the top of the Empire State Building, marvel at Times Square, ride the subway, and eat a slice of New York style pizza.
A short train ride takes students next to Philadelphia. Described as “America’s Garden Capitol,” students will have the opportunity to visit and be inspired by some of the greatest gardens in the United States, such as Chanticleer, the Morris Arboretum, Shofuso Japanese Garden, and the world-renowned Longwood Gardens. They will visit with professionals and see amazing private gardens as well as take-in classic Philly landmarks such as Reading Terminal Market, Independence Hall, and the Liberty Bell. No trip to the city of brotherly love is complete without an opportunity to enjoy a classic Philly cheesesteak, take a picture in front of the Love Statue, and run to the top of the iconic “Rocky Steps” at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
Students interested in this trip must love being outdoors and can comfortably spend the day walking through landscapes and cityscapes with others. See these two urban centers in a completely different way – it is a chance to see the “nature” of these two amazing cities. This trip is sure to provide inspiration, appreciation, networking opportunities, and some great Instagram shots!
