This is a semester-long CALS exchange program available to students in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and ABE students in the College of Engineering with a 3.0 GPA or above.

The Federal University of Viçosa (UFV) is a public Brazilian higher education institution with around 20,000 students and over 1,200 full professors. Founded in 1926, UFV is considered the main Brazilian university in agriculture.

Undergraduate courses offered include agribusiness, agronomy, agricultural and environmental engineering, animal husbandry, biochemistry, dairy science, food engineering, nutrition, and more! This particular exchange requires that each student participates in an internship at the host university or with a company.

All courses are taught in Portuguese. This may seem intimidating, but past students have not had any problem with this. It is expected that students will study abroad on this particular program their 3rd or 4th year at ISU but will start preparing in their 1st or 2nd year with language preparation. **There is a required 4 week Intensive Portuguese class that starts before the academic semester.
