This immersive study trip to Puerto Rico is designed for students interested in learning about the island's culinary heritage, food systems, agricultural practices, and food processing industries. Students will explore the diverse and vibrant food culture of Puerto Rico by participating in tasting immersions tailored specifically to the local culinary traditions. The course includes visits to coffee and chocolate plantations, rum distilleries, farms, food processors, and local markets, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of the island's food landscape.
Pre-departure orientation will meet during the second half of the spring semester, followed by travel in May 2025.
