Students who participate in the Peru study abroad experience

  • Will visit several diversified farms with crops and animals. 

  • Will learn about the agricultural practices for several major agricultural crops, such as potatoes, maize, and beans,

  • Have hands-on experience using Indigenous agricultural tools to plant and harvest crops.

  • Will visit Cochahuasi Animal Sanctuary dedicated to rescuing and looking after animals which have suffered mistreatment of any kind from former owners or poachers or illegal hunters who commercialize protected species, including the Andean Condor and South American camelids.

  • Will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a culture that has persevered without European influences, including visiting a UNESCO World Heritage Site Inca citadel from the 15th century known as Machu Pichu.

  • Will be able to interact with local communities, learn new Spanish words and listen to a few of the 72 Indigenous languages and dialects.
