"Soils, Agriculture & the Environment of Uruguay" examines the soils, agriculture and environment  across Uruguay via a series of visits to farms, forests, rivers and parks.  The program will develop an understanding and appreciation of South America's northern Pampas and the Universidad de la Republica, as well as Uruguay as a nation with a unique and vibrant agricultural culture and economy.

Program Goals
The overarching goals of this course is for students  to gain an appreciation and respect for the rich culture of Uruguay and the importance and value of Spanish as a globally relevant language in agriculture and the environment.  The technical day-to-day goal is for students to learn about the soils of Uruguay and how the nation of Uruguay manages those soils for agriculture (crops, livestock), forestry, and environmental quality.
