The Edinburgh & London trip during Spring Break 2023 will offer an opportunity to explore the history and government of two constituent countries of the United Kingdom (Scotland and England), as well as the economics of European integration and the recent exit of the UK from the European Union. During the class time prior to the trip, students will discuss the recent history of the UK's relationship with the rest of the European continent with a focus on the motivations for Brexit and the resulting impacts of the UK leaving the EU.

The visit to Scotland will provide an opportunity to understand regional tensions within the UK, while the visit to London will provide an opportunity to explore a major world metropolis whose growth and prosperity are intimately linked with international trade and globalization.
