Study USA Scholarships

Department of Agronomy Students:

These awards will be used to support academic travel to international and domestic destinations. The Agronomy Department will award a scholarship for 40% of the advertised cost of a travel course or $2,000 for a semester abroad. Specific application deadlines will be announced by the department. Students must have a GPA of 2.00 or higher and must be an Agronomy major to be eligible.


Chris Twarok Memorial Scholarship

The scholarship was established by an anonymous donor, in order to help a forestry student with the expenses of attending the fall camp. Selection is strongly based on a strong interest in forestry and a 200-word essay identifying their interest in forestry. Applicant must be in good academic standing. This is a one-time award and is based primarily on financial need, to help pay the cost of the Fall Forestry Camp. Applications are available after camp each year and awards are given during fall semester.

Eligibility:

  • Students of undergraduate class standing.
  • Enrolled in the Department of Natural Resource Ecology and Management majoring in forestry.
  • Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Be enrolled in Fall Forestry Camp (FOR 206), a three-week camp experience

Richard and Nancy Degner Food Systems Domestic Travel Fund

The Donors have established this scholarship to support the development and coordination of a domestic travel program for students interested in gaining a better understanding and a stronger comprehension of the food system. This scholarship is administered through the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition.

Eligibility:

  • Undergraduate students who have successfully completed FS HN 242 - The US Food System

or

  • Undergraduate students majoring in the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition with a minor in Food and Society, Agriculture and Society, or Agricultural Studies with an emphasis in Communications.
