How to Make your Study Abroad Affordable

Apply for scholarships

The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences has a number of scholarships available for graduate and undergraduate students in the college. Scholarship applications are due November 1 for spring programs, March 1 for summer programs, and May 1 for fall programs. There are also scholarships and grants available trough Iowa State University as well as other outside sources (research these opportunity on your own).

CALS-sponsored Scholarship Donors

Undergraduate Scholarships:

To apply for a CALS-sponsored scholarship: When applying for any study abroad program through ISUAbroad, as a CALS student, you will need to click on the "CALS Study Abroad Scholarship Application Information" link within the application, read the content in the dialogue box and click on the link provided to apply for scholarships.

Taking a Family Member?

With permission, spouses and/or dependents are allowed to travel with faculty program directors on study abroad programs.  For further information, please contact Jodi Cornell (515-294-1851)

The faculty program director is responsible for all expenses associated with spouses/dependents.

If spouse/dependent expenses are included in group expenses, those costs must be reimbursed to the study abroad program account.
